Guidelines For Donated Items
Denver Public Schools utilizes items of all types donated from community members, businesses, and organizations. Our schools are particularly in need of computer equipment, audio-visual equipment, and school supply items. If you have an item that you think our teachers or staff can use, please let us know! THE FIXED ASSET CENTRAL RECEIVING PROCESS Schools wishing to receive donated items should be aware that all incoming fixed asset items must be centrally received by the Office of Volunteer Services before they can be serviced by DoTs. Fixed assets include computer equipment, audio-visual equipment, and food service appliances. All donated fixed assets must go through three steps in the central receiving process. First, items must be cleared for acceptance by the Office of Volunteer Services. Second, they must be documented on a Donation Verification Form (DVF) provided by the Office of Volunteer Services. Third, they must be bar-coded by the Fixed Asset department before being installed at the receiving school. For more information about the central receiving process, please see Steps in the Donation Process. In order to be accepted, all fixed asset items must be in good working condition when donated.
